The Manchurian Candidate

1962

John Frankenheimer
Director
United Artists
Studio

To cash in on the impending release of Jonathan Demme's remake (which looks very promising), we get Frankenheimer's original cold war brainwashed assassin movie, which racks up so much tension you may need a theraputic massage afterwards. Highly Recommended. Oh, and you'll have a hard time watching Angela Lansbury doing her Miss Marple thing after watching this.
