The Name of the Rose

1985

Jean-Jacques Annaud
Director

About time. DVD release for Jean-Jacques Annaud's excellent adaption of Umberto Eco's clever rehash of Sherlock Holmes. Connery is at his very best. The murder mystery angle delivers. Fans of Cadfael should love it. The only drawback - all the supporting characters are disgusting.
