The story of the Delta frat house and its incumbents.
Where to start? The film that launched a whole genre of bawdy comedies that still manifests itself in the likes of Van Wilder and Harold and Kumar comedies. Of all of them, Animal House seems to stand the test of time and boasts the best film-making with John Landis at the top of his game. With so many classic vignettes its hard to choose a winner, but the bit with the horse made me widdle myself laughing back in the day. Very funny, very nostalgic (even if you weren't there).
The best comedy of the 70s, and progenitor of all the snob vs. slob comedies to come. I remember being ten years old and sneaking to watch this on my parent's TV with my ear against the speaker when it was the late, late movie. So thank you for corrupting me at such a young age, Delta house.
The Omegas and Dean Wormer are awful, yes, but has anyone noticed that the truly awful person in this film is the slick, manipulative Otter, the guy with a medicine bag full of sex toys? Watching him operate is like watching Ted Bundy's college years.
