The Bed Sitting Room

1970

Richard Lester
Director

British life continues normally following nuclear apocalypse. Well, I say normally, but one of our heroes is turning into a bed sitting room and another has been pregnant for 18 months...

Delightful "up yours" to the establishment. Seen today, the pacing is slow and a lot of the gags misfire, but a couple of gems survive and the fade-out, featuring Dandy Nichols, is to cherish forever.

Long absent on DVD, the BFI are releasing Blu-Ray and DVD versions on May 25th, 2009 - hooray!
