|Cartoon legends Tom (the cat) and Jerry (the mouse) are united as their owners move home and inadvertently leave them behind. Alone and on the streets, the two form an uneasy alliance and help to restore the faith of a little girl who has run away from an orphanage due to her overbearing foster mother.|
Lacklustre, unfunny and dull. When I think of Tom and Jerry I think of Fred Quimby, I think of fast, slapstick humour with objects being smashed over heads, resulting in heads forming the shape of said items. I think of Spike, I think of MGM's glorious spell in the 1940s where this type of cartoon was popular. This film lacks the spirit of the duo, and takes on the form of a drama....well I'm afraid Tom & Jerry and drama are not well suited to one another.
