An aging gigolo resorts to murdering wealthy women to keep his golddigger lover happy.
Neat and surprsingly stylish retelling of the Bluebeard legend, with a nicely droll perofrmance from Sanders and some amusingly dry humor. Hard to take seriously at times (Sanders literally walks away from one murder scene because apparently French hotel maids don't have peripheral vision), but part of the fun is watching him knock off a whole slew of aging female leads. It's hard to see why Landru is so besotted with Odette, as she's a disgusting tramp, but Calvet does well at portaying her. And whoever think James Bond started the whole thing of deadly bon mots would do well to watch this.
