Witness

1985

Peter Weir
Director
Paramount

Another peerless Harrison Ford movie, as he hides out in an Amish community to protect a young witness from bad cops. Something for everyone - a terrific action movie and a beautiful love story too. Highly recommended.

PS By today's action movie standards, this is somewhat lethargic, but it still beguiles. Maurice Jarre's score seems to have as many fans as it does detractors. I loved it then. I love it now, and if you can find it, there's an orchestrated version, as opposed to the synthesizer one, that is just mmmm mmmm mm. RIP Maurice Jarre.
