The Bonfire of the Vanities

1990

Brian DePalma
Director

A New York City bond trader gets himself into trouble when he becomes involved in an accident with his mistress in the Bronx. Based on the controversial Tom Wolfe novel of the same name, this movie - which boasts a very impressive cast - also turned out to be one of the most controversial films of all time as well. A critical and box-office flop in 1990. I personally like it, but it would seem that I am in the minority of those who do.

Unfortunately the screencaptures are from one of those typically less-than-magnificent grainy, blurry Warner Bros. DVD prints.
