Aging National Geographic photographer Eastwood passes through a small country town in Iowa in August 1965 to photograph the covered bridges there. During his four days on the project he meets married-but-bored housewife Streep, who not only gives him a guided tour of the remote locations of the bridges, but also starts to fall in love with him. As her husband and two teenage children are due home at the end of the week she is forced to make a decision which will ultimately change her life forever more...

A beautiful, tear-jerking story, based on the Robert James Waller novel of the same name is one of my most beloved films.
