A young German guy gets himself into trouble when he accidentally leaves the money he has collected from a drugs deal on a train, only to have it picked up by the luckiest homeless guy in the world! Desperate, he resorts to holding up a supermarket in order to reclaim the missing cash and deliver it to the intended dealers or else face being killed by the cops - or worse still the drug dealers themselves. He puts in a plea to his girlfriend, Lola, to run as quick as she possibly can to meet him before he makes a bad move.
The story is told three times from three different perspectives, each different depending on sets of circumstances.
It's very high rating on IMDb.com is totally justified.
The Blu Ray basically incorporates all the extras from the DVD, which includes an informative scene-by-scene commentary track from director Tykwer and actress Potente. I would also recommend the soundtrack too!
