The Village

2004

M. Night Shyamalan
Director

An isolated village, cut off from all modern civilization, comes under attack from an unwanted creature lurking in the nearby Covington Woods. When one of the villagers (Phoenix) is wounded by a jealous friend (Brody), his blind girlfriend (Howard) ventures out into the woods, despite all hazards, in order to retrieve him some medicine from the outside world.
By the way, the colour red attracts Those We Do Not Speak Of.

Shyamalan's successor to Signs is inferior in almost every way, devoid of excitement and with some rather bland performances, but it does have some genuinely scary moments.
