The Case of the Frightened Lady

Frightened Lady

Enjoyable thriller revolving around the usual old dark house tropes, this time involving inheritance issues, creepy servants and strangulation murders at Mark's Priory. Based on an Edgar Wallace play, made more palatable by good performances and more credible red herrings than usual. Remade as TV movies for British television in 1938 and 1983, and Italian television in 1971.
