A British cavalry unit make an ill-fated charge at heavy Russian defences during the Crimean war (1854).

A somewhat cynical take on an inept military action, but full of colour and detail of the mindset that allowed it. Fascinating inverse companion piece to Tennyson's poem filmed with breathtaking scope and a late 60s mindset making this the British version of Apocalypse Now.
