Dour little noir from Hammer proving that not only is it crime that doesn't pay but ANY vice whatsoever. For students and genre completists only.

-The Sloth

American gambler in London is desperate to get in with the upper classes and debases himself to do so. Why exactly is a mystery, as everyone of these social "betters" is an obnoxious hateful twit. I realize this is the point, but it makes for a tiresome film, doubly so for Clark's thick-headed character, who is so stupid that it's hard to believe he managed to find his way to England, let alone establish successful gambling dens in a foreign city.
