The Good Die Young

1954

Lewis Gilbert
Director
Romulus Films
Studio

Depressing noir with a trio of emasculated losers getitng coerced into a robbery by charming psychopath Harvey. Results are unpleasant for all involved.

Interesting film with fine perfomances, but nary a sympathetic character. Perhaps a little too over the top to really work, but worth a watch. The 1958 US film The Rebel Set appears to be an unacknowledged remake.

Note: Another film never available on legiimate DVD. Thomas Gallagher's character is listed as Burns in all sources, but is called "Brooksie" in the film.
