| The sixth Halloween film begins with Michael Myers' surviving niece Jamie giving birth to a baby boy in the bowels of the sanitarium (no explanation is given for this) on the eve of Halloween, and the child being immediately cursed with the rune sign of Thorn. As she is assisted in an escape by a nurse-with-a-death-wish, it's only natural Myers would pursue her, kill her and attempt to recover the baby. Of course, this is a Halloween movie, so throw in the obligatory sex scenes, the random and over-the-top gruesome murders and naturally there is always a thunder-and-lightning rainstorm and you have the basic ingredients for yet another run of the mill addition to the tiring formula.
Two very different versions of the film exist, including a studio-rejected Producer's Cut. Many fans regard this alternate cut as the definitive version of the film. Bootleg copies of this pop up on eBay from time to time if you're lucky enough to find one.
The film is dedicated to its leading star, Donald Pleasence, who died during the making of it.
