His Girl Friday

1940

Howard Hawks
Director
Columbia Pictures
Production Company

Drama-comedy about an editor who realises that his ex-wife, a highly respected and accomplished reporter for his newspaper is about to leave for an insurance salesman.

Regarded as one of the best movies of its time, I think the film suffers from poor editing with uncomfortably overlong scenes and an all-too-predictable charm of its leading star which quickly becomes irritating.
