The Klansman

The Burning Cross KKK

1974

Terence Young
Director

Small town sheriff comes between activists and the KKK.

Ugly little film peppered with atrocities. Sam Fuller wrote the script but bailed from the director's chair leaving it to Terence Young who should have known better. Marvin is OK and Huddleston his usual underrated self. This is another one of those low spots on Burton's career though. Then there's the O.J. factor, well actually O.J. is O.K. as the avenger.
DVD quality is awful and film is painfully cut, although that might be a blessing.
