The Man Who Could Cheat Death

1959

Terence Fisher
Director
Hammer Films
Studio

Well mounted but rather dull remake of The Man in Half Moon Street (1944). Diffring just doesn't seem right for the part, and Lee is rather wasted as the 'straight man,' as it were. Nice to see Marle and De Wolff get sizable roles for a change, though.

Note: Lockwood West is listed on BFI and IMDb as uncredited 'first doctor,' but he doesn't appear to have made the final cut. Same goes for Michael Ripper as a morgue attendant.

Thanks to Philly for pointing out some extras I missed!
