Max, the Road Warrior, attempts to save a group of people protecting an oil well from marauding gangs in the wasteland of the near future.

Excellent film, a worthy sequel to the original, and the film that inspired a whole genre of post-apocalyptic car films, most of them pretty bad. A really nasty film, even nastier than the original, though much of the brutality is implied rather than clearly shown. The climax, both the end of the chase and the identity of the narrator still resonate, even if you've seen the film a dozen times. Hard to believe such a cynical and brutal film was made by the same director who directed films like Happy Feet.
