The Road to Hong Kong

1962

Crosby and Hope play two small-time scam artists who get tangled up with spies and supervillains in Hong Kong.

Final film in the long running Road series is a sad mess, with feeble jokes and a dated formula that is not helped a half-century on by an appalling level of cultural ignorance that pervades the entire film. Probably the most interesting aspect of the film is the anticipation of so many future spy film tropes, some months before the release of Dr. No. Pretty awful, but still better than Call Me Bwana, another Hope vehicle with ties to James Bond.

Note: Yvonne Shima and Mai Ling are credited as Poon Soon and Ming Toy, but the actresses addressed by these names in the film are not Shima or Ling! It's also apparent that several scenes were trimmed, as a number of actors supposed to be in the film are nowhere to be seen.
