Funded by the Spanish Queen, a sailor/explorer sets out on an unprecedented mission to discover what undiscovered lands lie to the far west of the ocean.
The movie was made and released 500 years after Columbus' discovery of the New World to mixed reviews and a generally poor reception at the box-office. From a historical point of view it is fascinating, from an entertaining side it is overlong, dull and boring.

Ridley Scott turns his attention to the New World in this overly ambitious Columbus tale. Gorgeous to watch and listen to though. ~ The Sloth.
