Still haunted by the tragic events of Halloween night twenty years ago, Laurie Strode has faked her own death, relocated to California and assumed a new identity in order to escape further attacks from her maniacal brother, masked killer Michael Myers. But when Myers manages to get his hands on the documents which prove Laurie's existence, he heads out west to be reunited with her - on Halloween.
The seventh movie in the Halloween film series acts as if Halloweens 2 - 6 never even happened. There's no Donald Pleasence (he died in 1995, although he is remembered here with his photograph on the wall), but Jamie Lee Curtis is back and brings her real-life mom (Janet Leigh) with her too. Their scenes are a film buff's paradise: classic pieces of dialogue between them refering to both the Halloween and Psycho films - the films which made both actresses famous in their own day. Also, a welcome return, albeit brief for Nancy Stephens (remember her from the first two Halloween movies?)
