M. Night Shyamalan's watery E.T. redux will disappoint those expecting one of those twisty little thrillers the fellow has been churning out, but he couldn't keep making those forever, could he? ~ The Sloth
The opening prologue sends shivers down my spine every time I hear it; what an introduction to a movie. Unfairly criticized by the critics for not being The Sixth Sense, this film has a lot to offer, including a star performance from Giamatti and another interesting screenplay from the modern-day master director MNS. See it first before judging it. Oh, and one last thing: there are plenty of remarks floating around on the internet about the supposed poor quality transfer on the Blu-Ray edition....those rumours are all true I'm afraid. ~ Lord Heath
The most bizarre fact I came across when researching the background to this movie was that the film itsself was classified as PG. The reason the DVD release received a 12 rating in the UK was because of the theatrical trailer, which was included as an extra.
