Captain of a Gilbraltar ferry has the perfect situation--a sexy exotic wife in "Kalika" (assumedly meant to be Ceuta), and a nice domestic wife, 'sober, steadfast and demure,' on the Rock. Unfortunately things begin to change when he gets a bit careless and underestimates the female mind.
Amusing but dated comedy with a nicely droll performance by Guinness. Unfortunately that doesn't hide the fact that his character is a bit of a pig, something which tends to make the comedy less funny than it could have been. The admittedly clever ending doesn't really dispel that fact. Still kind of worth it to see Sir Alec playing the bongos, not to mention a very tipsy Celia Johnson!
