A guy takes his girlfriend to a remote cabin in the woods where they both encounter demonic possessions from evil forces lurking outside in the darkness. After she is quickly killed, he is left to face the music on his own, until some guests invite themselves up to share in the experience.
It's fair to say the film appears to be more of a remake than it is a sequel, as many of the past events are discarded and not mentioned. Also a heavy lean towards it being a very dark black comedy than a horror movie. I think there are some parts that work better than the first film, and other parts simply don't have the gore/scare factor. All things considered it's an average movie; worth a look, but probably not one to fork out a lot of money on.
Preceeded by The Evil Dead (1982), and followed by Army Of Darkness: The Medieval Dead (1992). |
