Sawyer is enraged when a boar steals the tarpaulin from his shelter during the night and vows to track down and kill the beast. The next morning he ventures into the jungle, tagged along by Kate where the two of them seem to bond over a game of "I Never..." with the assistance of some of alcohol. Locke tells a story of his sister who died as a child which sparks some kind of memory for Sawyer, with whom we are taken back through flashbacks to a time when he seeked vengeance with the man who murdered his mother.
