When a 6,000-pound stone sculpture called "Man in Harmony" is stolen out of a building, well-known "restoration" investigator Thomas Banacek is called in by Boston Insurance Company. The statue is insured for three million dollars; Banacek will try and recover it for his usual 10% of the insured value. That will save the company 2.7 million dollars. Helped by his friend, bookshop owner Felix Mulholland, and occasionally hindered by his chauffer Jay Drury, Banacek is able to solve the case, throwing in a couple of his usual old Polish proverbs along the way. Exciting entry in the series, with good performances by everyone.
